中文摘要:本文探讨中国学生学习英语存在句表现出的规律。根据存在句的结构特点,我们将其分为5大类,14小类,且虚词there可以表现为不同的子语类特征集。二语习得涉及形式特征的学习,特征及其运算的复杂性决定结构的习得程度。本项测试调查4组中国学生掌握14类存在句的情况,结果发现不同存在句结构的掌握程度成梯度差异,虚词there的掌握也呈现出不稳定现象。

外文摘要:This article is an empirical study of Chinese EFL learners' acquisition of English existential constructions,which are classified into five major types(subdivided into 14 subtypes) according to their syntactic properties.It is assumed that the expletive 'there' manifests different sets of formal features and that L2 acquisition involves the development of formal features,which,together with the complexity of operations,determines the degree of acquisition of a certain construction.The test results of this study demonstrate a hierarchy of acquisition of 'there' constructions,positive correlation between English proficiency and mastery of these constructions,and an unstable command of 'there'.
